Santissimi
The artistic duo Santissimi is composed by Sara Renzetti and Antonello Serra, both born in Cagliari at the end of the seventies, but originally from Barumini where they live and work.
After attending the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, she and the Faculty of Architecture him, they approach the world of sculpture as self-taught, learning the processes and methods of silicone processing and starting an artistic research focused on the transience of human existence, on abandonment and emptiness.
Interested in the investigation of genetics and the origins of man, their sculptures are surprisingly realistic, while often depicting hybrid beings halfway between human and animal. They are bodies of silicone “locked” in the resin, firm, immobile and helpless, and represent a humanity trapped in plastic bags or in boxes full of formalin.
